Attendance marking on giving.sg varies by opportunity type: One-time, Project-based, and Recurring.
One-Time Opportunities
Option A: QR Code
- Go to the registered volunteers list and click "Print QR code"
- Select the relevant position and dates, then click "Generate QR"
- Track volunteer hours is enabled: volunteers scan both check-in and check-out QR codes to record exact duration
- Track volunteer hours is disabled: volunteers are automatically assigned the full opportunity duration upon scanning
- Note: this setting cannot be changed once the opportunity is created; pop-ups must be allowed in the browser; only registered, logged-in volunteers can scan
- Verify the QR code(s) generated successfully before use
Option B: Manual
- Go to the registered volunteers list
- Select the volunteer name(s), click "Take attendance"
- Enter the number of hours volunteered and click "Confirm"
- If hours exceed the total opportunity hours, a reason for the extra hours must be entered first
Project-Based Opportunities
- Go to the registered volunteers list, open volunteer details, and select "Input hours manually"
- Enter the volunteer hours and click "Confirm"
- Hours are otherwise awarded automatically at the end of the project (max = opportunity total unless a reason for extra hours is provided)
Recurring Opportunities
- Go to the registered volunteers list, open volunteer details, and click "Check attendance"
- In the attendance window, select the sessions the volunteer attended, then click "Update" to save
- Hours are awarded automatically the day after each session
- Unchecked sessions are marked as absent
